A classically beautiful, original Raleigh Merlin refurbished as a retro track style bicycle for the cycling enthusiast who wants something special.
Narrow diameter vintage steel tubing and brazed lugs, with a classic 1″ threaded headset and quill stem, this frame is a work of retro art. Classic style, brazed/lugged construction with a 68mm BSA threaded bottom bracket.
Hand-refurbished into a classically styled track machine using the a simple single speed freewheel hub Sturmey Archer the ”Merlin” gives a smooth, comfortable and fun ride.
Wheels are classic 27 1-1/4 rims fitted with Schwalbe HS159 with classic tan walls.
Finishing components are from Dia-Compe, using their alloy track bars, quill stem. While the saddle is the Selle Italia with matching bar tape, while the brakes are Dia-Compe’s BRS101 calipers.
All in all, the ”Merlin” is a great choice for the single-speed aficionado who wants a swift town bike in a genuine classic frame.
